Brief Description
Rational House© was formed to create a new family city dwelling for the 21st century. The Rational House team analysed the concept of the urban house; its development in history; and its defining and most engaging characteristics. Rational House then created a blueprint for contemporary living: a modern house that distils the most successful characteristics of family homes of the past. Sterling Services joined the development team at the outset of the project and were integral in the design and development, culmanating in the contract to manufacture and install the precast elements of the first Rational House using advanced construction methods delivering a high quality house at a competitive cost.
Scope of Works:
Prototype precast concrete house consisting of precast polar white and buff Thermomass insulated sandwich panels, structural floor slabs, precast brick-faced Thermomass insulated sandwich panels and one piece precast window surrounds with windows fitted in our factory. Approximately 50% recycled aggregates were used to achieve a code 4 BREEAM rating.
